With over 60″ of snow already on the ground, this year’s annual Trail Marking Party was a rousing success!     Seventeen eager volunteers came together on December 10-11 to help make sure that High Camp’s trail system is in top condition for our long winter season.   Countless blue diamond trail markers are now more easily visible on all of our main trails.   In addition,  bamboo poles were also used to mark more open areas where it is difficult to display blue diamonds, and also along the crest of McCue Ridge which skirts in and out of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area where any type of permanent markers are prohibited.

Marking the Trail

Monday evening again featured our traditional  homemade spaghetti dinner, the main course provided by High Camp with other participants contributing either an appetizer, salad or dessert.   The hot tub and sauna were very popular after a vigorous day on the trails and the large dinner.     Our famous High Camp “work party” breakfast greeted everyone on Tuesday morning, followed by more time on the trails.  People got back to the parking lot at 3 pm, giving everyone a head start on the trip home before dark.
