Hats Off to a First Class Experience

Friday morning came, our day to leave, and we got a break in the snowfall, and blue sky opened up, and the sun put a smile on everything. After three days of continual snow, this break in the weather made it hard to leave.
But we got our share of snowshoeing because, we took the option of snowshoeing into High Camp with our dog, Roo, as you know. We did not realize how much snow there was or how much elevation we gained to arrive at High Camp. This snowshoe trek into Scottish Lakes was one of the most physically exhausting things I have ever done. Greg, too, I think. We arrived 1/4 mile short of High Camp, (bow down to snowmobile lights on the hill), but certainly got enough snowshoeing to last us the entire stay. We only realized how far we had climbed and what beautiful scenery was covered in clouds, when we came down the mountain Friday morning.
The entire staff is welcoming and skilled. Kudos to Zeke, Matt and Matt, Rich, Eric and many others who are availble 24/7. They all seemed engaged in labor of love, (well, maybe with a bit less snow).
Greg read about Bill and Peg Stark and we got hungry reading recipes for meals served at Family Adventures, the early High Camp. The Starks fulfilled a dream of sharing their love of the out of doors with others. Greg felt the Stark’s energy was alive and well in the walls of the lodge. You have kept alive the magic of the Stark’s mission and have attracted employees and visitors alike who really love being there. Including us. We will be back. Hats off to a first class experience.
