Each year Labor and Industries honors those who died while at work with a very special memorial. Our family attended the service on April 29th for Don. 65 workers were honored. It was a beautiful and reverent; we all felt cared for and supported. A high school choir sang and there were bagpipes. One of the speakers was our governor Jay Inslee who has been a guest at Scottish Lakes. We were given rhododendrons in memory of our loved one. The event took place at the L & I building in Tumwater. After the formal service we went out into the garden where there was a huge bell. We were invited to ring the bell and Don’s mom Lucy was the first one up there, ringing the bell to honor her beloved son. She will be 90 this summer.
