When we first purchased Scottish Lakes in 1994 we were only open for the winter skiing season. We just did not think people would want to come up to the mountains to stay in a cabin during backpacking season. We were wrong about that! In 1999 we had decided to expand our lodge to accommodate more people since the millennium was upon us and there was a lot of interest in spending New Year’s Eve at Scottish Lakes to ring in the 2000. So to bring in some money to fund the lodge expansion we experimented with what we called our ” Fall Season” which started mid August and went into early October.
That first season was more successful than we had hoped we remained open late summer early fall. Each year our bookings during that time increased a little. A few years ago we decided to open earlier for a “Wildflower Season”. This has also become popular. Now that we open August 1st, we just can’t call it a “Fall Season”. So our Hiking Season runs from August 1st this year to October 12th. Come to Scottish Lakes to enjoy:
- beautiful hiking trails to Mc Cue Ridge and also 9 lakes
- fall colors
- outdoor firepit
