Well it is here! Wildflower season. The time to get up into the mountains, then just enjoy the profuse display of color. There are many areas around High Camp that I consider optimum wildflower display destinations. The area above Lake Chiwaukum on the way to Larch Lake called Ewing Basin comes to mind. Loch Eileen, when you just come to the lake hiking up from Lake Julius, there is a lovely meadow with a beautiful variety of flowers. The High Meadows starting at Lake Donald and above provides a beautiful display of wildflowers. Enjoy these photos of wildflowers found in the Scottish Lakes area. These photos were taken by High Camp staff person and all around Mr. Fix-it, Max Pillie.
