This is a fun challenge we take an early Monday in October each year. The hike leaves High Camp at 8 am in the morning heading to Larch Lake at 5.5 miles. We then climb up to Cup Lake and Deadhorse Pass which is our high point at about 7200 feet in elevation. Dropping over the pass we hike off trail until we reach the Wildhorse Trail on the west side of the Chiwaukum Mountains. We descend to the White Pine trail and meet cars we have planted there. We then hop into the cars and head to the 59er Diner hoping to arrive before it closes :). High Camp picks up the tab for the meal.

The total mileage for this hike is about 14 miles. You need some stamina to complete the trip. There are some exposed areas on either side of Deadhorse Pass so it is good to bring hiking poles and common sense!

If you would like to participate you need spend Sunday night, October 4th at Scottish Lakes. You will head back to your home late Monday evening after an exhilarating hike and wonderful dinner at the diner.
