You don't need to wait for the ski resorts to get more snow to open. High Camp is a winter wonderland right now. As of Sunday, December 2, High Camp boasts a base depth of about 3 1/2 feet of snow.
Lots more is on the way in the immediate forecast!

Thanks to a cancellation, Columbine cabin is now available on the nights of Friday, December 28th, Saturday, December 29th, Sunday, December 30th, and Monday, December 31st. The A-frame cabin sleeps 3-5 people, with two doubles and a single. Other than this cabin we are completely sold out on these four dates. Minimum two-night reservation, please.

Columbine is also available for the nights of December 26th and 27th if you are looking for a longer stay earlier in the week.

 GREAT SNOW FORECAST FOR EARLY WINTER!
 
According to West Coast Weather and Washington Online Weather, we are in for some great early season snow this winter! With a moderate La Nina forming (below average sea surface temperatures in the Pacific) we should see above average precipitation and close to normal or slightly below normal temperatures. Thus, snowfall for the Washington Cascades should be at 125% of normal for the period of November through the end of January, 2008.
 WHAT ABOUT DOGS?
Dogs are always welcome during the Fall Season.
During the winter season, dogs are permitted anytime prior to December 10 and after April 10. A maximum of 2 dogs are also allowed on most Sunday-Thursday nights (holiday weeks excluded)
 COWABUNGA!  NEW SLOPES AT HIGH CAMP!

Winter backcountry enthusiasts will be delighted with the addition of three new marked slopes at High Camp this year! 

“Cowabunga”, a northeast facing, challenging intermediate (blue) run down through scattered trees, is located at the bottom of Upper Staircase trail and ends just a few hundred yards from the lodge

“Shangrila”, with a more mellow aspect and sweeping views of the eastern horizon, falls to the southeast between the Staircase and Bonnie Brae trails. 

The third new slope, “Northern Exposure”, has a northerly orientation and slopes down toward Roaring Creek from the vicinity of the Glacier View trail.  All three slopes are within an easy fifteen minute ski of High Camp.  Grab your skis or snowboards and get set to carve some turns in the powder!
