"Remembering Don Hanson"
March 4, 2013 in Remembering Don Hanson
On Saturday, March 2 the hiking community lost one of its stalwart ambassadors. Don Hanson, owner and proprietor of Scottish Lakes High Camp, died when a tree dropped a giant load of snow on him while he was working outside the lodge. Don is described by those who knew him as a “force of nature.” At 65, he had more energy than most people half his age. Don was always generous and gracious, becoming lifelong friends with many of his guests.
